homecoming-2017

Homecoming reunites alumni and faculty

Homecoming was a great turnout this year. The Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training tent (on East Street this year) was the site of many reunions that included alumni from the Exercise Science, Athletic Training and Physical Education Programs. Attendees enjoyed watching a video featuring athletic training alumni by Nate Corder, MU videographer, as well as a photo montage of our recent study abroad trip to Ireland and London compiled by Tyler Hudson, second year MAT student. The trip abroad was also the subject of an Encore Lecture by Jeff Beer and Ryan Hedstrom, focusing on the logistics and collaboration between the Exercise Science and Sport Management Programs.

Pictured above, left to right, are Lana Groombridge, Zach Dougal, Jeff Beer, Mark Huntington, Alicia Krueckeberg '08 VanZile, Adam VanZile '09 and Dan Jones '09.

    MU welcomes back Michael Salazar

Michael Salazar, 1998 alumnus, now assistant athletic trainer for the Cleveland Indians, made a visit to Manchester on Nov. 17. In an informal talk with MU students, he shared experiences and stories about working in major league baseball, including the 2016 World Series, in which the Indians fell to the Cubs in seven games. He credits MU as being instrumental in his success and, as an advocate for the University's Athletic Training Program, says  that he is always looking for great people from Manchester University to promote in the league. We congratulate Michael on his achievements.
