In 1960, the Alumni Association began presenting the Alumni Honor Award, the highest recognition the Alumni Association can bestow upon a graduate of Manchester University or Mount Morris College. The award may be given for participation or personal service to the University or its alumni program over time, or for distinguished service or accomplishments in any field of human endeavor, thus enhancing the prestige of the University. It is made to living alumni upon the recommendation of the Alumni Association and the approval of the president of the University.

Young Alumni Awards began in 2011 to recognize emerging leaders and those alumni who retain a strong alliance with the University.

The Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes Manchester University alumni who are between the ages of 31 and 40 and who demonstrate outstanding leadership in their careers, contribute to the betterment of their community and its citizens and retain a strong alliance with the University.
