Playing on the courts … the US Circuit Courts - with Michael Jordan ’91
Manchester’s very own Michael Jordan ’91 will share with us how he became the Circuit Executive of United States Courts for the Second Circuit, headquartered in New York City. Michael clerked for a judge in the Second Circuit; when that judge later became the Chief Circuit Judge, Michael returned to serve as his Counsel. Find out how a Philosophy graduate who minored in Music at Manchester made it there. Michael’s event will be on January 10th.
Working in the White House - with Dustin Brown ’99
Political Science graduate Dustin Brown ’99 has served at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in Washington D.C for over 20 years. The OMB serves the President of the United States in overseeing the implementation of their vision across the Executive Branch. Find out what it’s like to work in this area of government, how the OMB operates under different administrations, and how Dustin got there. Dustin’s event will be on January 17th.
What is permaculture - with Dana Nixon ’96
Dana Nixon ’96 resides in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) with her family who live by the philosophy of permaculture on the farm she and her husband work together. Find out from Dana about permaculture, how they approach it in the PNW, and how she made it there from Manchester. Dana’s event will be on January 24th.
Protecting grizzly habitat – do they really need help - with Kevin Rhoades ’80
The afternoon after graduating from Manchester, Kevin Rhoades ’80 left campus for a summer job in Yellowstone National Park. He loved the area so much he decided to live there. Kevin now works for the Vital Ground Foundation in Missoula, Montana. They are a non-profit land trust that conserves and connects habitat for grizzly bears. Yes, grizzly bears. Hear from Kevin about how he got there and the work of Vital Ground on January 31st.
