MU’s 100 percent online master’s in nutrition complies with the national requirement that all registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN) must hold a master’s degree. Experiential Learning

In your first year, you’ll shadow a registered dietitian. Further into earning your nutrition science degree, you’ll provide dietitian coverage in a clinical setting.

During six different rotations, you’ll apply the Nutrition Care Process to provide medical nutrition therapy in a variety of settings including general medicine, cardiology, oncology and ICUs.

What Can You Do With Your Degree in Nutrition?

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are the experts in diet and nutrition in all facets of the health care and wellness industries. As an RDN, you’ll provide nutrition-related counseling and education.

In addition to your focus on preventing, treating and managing health conditions, you are instrumental in helping individuals maintain optimal health or achieve peak athletic performance.

Effective January 2024, a master’s degree is required for all registered dietitians. Earning your ACEND-accredited nutrition science degree from Manchester not only fulfills this requirement, its nutrigenomic components set you apart from the competition.

Career outlook for nutrition science degree graduates

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), roles for nutritionists and dietitians are expected to grow 7 percent through 2032—as fast as average.

MU’s nutrition science degree graduates work as registered dietitians in long-term care, food service, sports, clinics, hospitals, community agencies and corporate wellness, and as food and culinary professionals.

How much do MSNGx, NGx graduates make?

BLS reports $66,450 as the median salary for a nutritionist with a bachelor’s degree. One of the benefits of earning your master’s degree is increased salary potential.
