Manchester’s Tracy Brooks is Generation Rx Champion

Tracy-BrooksThis award is given to a pharmacist who has demonstrated excellence in community-based prescription drug abuse prevention. It recognizes outstanding efforts to raise awareness about this serious public health problem, including educational prevention efforts for youths, patients and others.

Brooks gives presentations on the opioid epidemic to both health care providers and lay audiences as a recognized expert in opioid abuse.

Brooks, a palliative care pharmacist and MU assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was named 2017 Pharmacist of the Year by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly.

She joined the Manchester Pharmacy Program in March 2011. Brooks oversees programs of education, research and service in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, and she supports efforts in managing programs for faculty, education, research and service.

Brooks has nearly 20 years of clinical experience in inpatient, ambulatory and home health care environments.  She has a clinical practice site at Parkview Medical Center, where she serves on the palliative care team.
