Panel at Manchester explores ‘Why the Constitution Matters’
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- A panel of Manchester University faculty and staff will discuss their views on how, why and to what extent the Constitution, constitutional law and constitutional arguments matter.
Panelists for “Why the Constitution Matters” include W. Thomas Smith, dean of Pharmacy Programs; Jillian Watts, CARE Initiative director; Whitney Bandemer, vice president for Human Resources and Strategic Initiatives; Michael Staudenmaier, assistant professor of history; and Seth M. Mayer, assistant professor of philosophy.
Leonard Williams, dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences, will facilitate the panel.
This Constitution Day event is 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 in Cordier Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
It is part of the Values, Ideas and the Arts series at Manchester, which offers academic enrichment for students.
Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.
