Fort Wayne campus weather procedures

Decisions related to classes (e.g., delayed start, cancellation) will be made no later than 6 a.m. Manchester University will notify Fort Wayne faculty, staff and students through the following processes:

1. Fort Wayne Campus inclement weather phone line, 260-470-2686. The message on this phone line will be updated no later than 6 a.m.
2. A campus-wide email will be sent to Fort Wayne students, staff and faculty.
3. University web pages will be updated.
4. An emergency notice via Spartan Alerts will be sent to those Fort Wayne students, staff and faculty who have provided contact numbers. If you have not signed up for these notifications, I would like to encourage you to do so. This will enable you to receive notifications on any type of emergency affecting the Fort Wayne Campus.

Instructions for entering a phone number into the Spartan Alerts notification system:

*Students:  Go to Quick Links on the Manchester University Web Page>ChetNet>>Safety>Spartan Alerts signup for messages.
*Faculty and staff:  Go to Quick Links on the Manchester University Web Page>ChetNet>Forms>Spartan Alerts signup for messages.

The best and most reliable method to determine whether the Fort Wayne Campus is open and classes are being held is to  heck your email and/or sign up for Spartan Alerts in order to receive notification. Announcements will not be posted though TV and radio outlets. More information on managing winter weather can be found here.

In the event of inclement weather conditions, students in clinical rotations will need to contact their site to determine the need for reporting to the site and, if necessary, developing a plan to make up the hours.

If the Fort Wayne campus closes due to inclement weather, faculty and staff will be expected to work remotely if able.
