Indianapolis’ Tapper receives Manchester impact award
Benjamin Tapper graduated just four years ago from Manchester University but wasted no time making a difference in the world.
After graduating in 2012, Tapper moved to Indianapolis to serve as an AmeriCorps Vista Fellow for the mayor’s Office of Education and Innovation. For him, it was personal. He wanted to help others the way he had once been helped.
Tapper later served as the career developer for Southeast Community Services, where he created partnerships and helped people find jobs.
Tapper completed his master’s degree in public affairs at IUPUI this spring. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.
A motivational speaker, he is dedicated to challenging injustice and inspiring others to transform the world around them. Tapper has started a YouTube series at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY0nNucr5UFDY7GgOe8UXUA, highlighting positive messages.
For his efforts, the Indianapolis man received the Young Alumni Impact Award from his alma mater this past weekend. The award recognizes alumni younger than 30 who continue to live out the University mission in their professional and personal lives, make a significant impact on the world and who are considered potential future leaders.
