Private Violence screenings, discussions offered at Manchester University
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Private Violence, a feature-length documentary film about intimate partner violence, will be shown at the Manchester University Fort Wayne campus as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
There will be two separate showings and discussions on Friday, Oct. 20: a morning session from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
The sessions are free and open to the public, but seating is limited. For more information or to register, email CAREonMU@manchester.edu.
The Fort Wayne campus is at 10627 Diebold Road, just east of the Dupont Road on Interstate 69.
The event is sponsored by MU’s CARE Initiative – Creating a Respectful Environment – that is the result of a $300,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to support efforts to raise awareness about sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking, and enhance victim support.
The grant is administered by the DoJ’s Office on Violence Against Women, designed to help schools individualize such programs. At Manchester, this includes programs that foster healthy relationships and support prevention education.
