Haylee Parrish wins Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Haylee Parrish, a Manchester University junior from Andrews, has received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad this spring.
Parrish, who majors in English and teaching English as a second language (TESOL), will study Japanese language and culture at MU’s partner institution, Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan, from April to mid-July.
The highly competitive Gilman scholarship is awarded on the basis of a strong academic record, financial need and a proposed service project. It is designed to help prepare students for success in the global economy. Manchester University, with campuses in North Manchester and Fort Wayne, Ind., offers more than 60 areas of academic study to 1,600 students in undergraduate programs, a Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics, a Master of Athletic Training and a four-year professional Doctor of Pharmacy.
