Traditional BSN Admission Requirements

Program Admission

Admission to the Nursing Program occurs after a student is admitted to the University. The Nursing Program admission is competitive, and the program has a limited number of seats in each cohort.  Admission to Manchester University does not guarantee admission to the Nursing Program.

*International Students are not eligible to apply to the Traditional BSN Degree Program currently.

Early Assurance

Lock in your place in the nursing cohort through the Early Assurance program. Qualified high school seniors can apply for Early Assurance into the Manchester Nursing Program. Early Assurance means if a student maintains a minimum 3.0 overall GPA, and a grade of C or higher with a 3.0 GPA in required science courses at Manchester: Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Chemistry they will be admitted into the nursing cohort.
Early Assurance Requirements:
GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
College Prep courses in high school, including science courses with labs
These additional experiences will enhance your application but are not essential requirements.

High school coursework that includes:
  • One year of Psychology
  • One year of Anatomy and Physiology
  • 30 hours of community service
  • Volunteer hours or employment hours in a health care setting OR completion of a high school health science-focused program

Standard Admission

Students who aren’t given Early Assurance or who decide to apply for the nursing program after starting another major at Manchester may apply for standard admission during their sophomore year, allowing them time to satisfy the requirements listed below. Admission to the program is limited, however, so acceptance will depend on the availability of openings at the time of admission.
Standard Admission Requirements:

30 hours of college-level work to include Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Statistics, Psychology, and Introduction to Nursing with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher and a 3.0 GPA or higher with a grade of "C" or higher in the science courses listed above.

Prior to the start of the sophomore year, all eligible students will be required to attend to an on-campus interview process that will include the submission of a prompted writing sample.
