Polar Plunge

Supporting the Special Olympics

The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraising event to help support the Special Olympics. Manchester University hosts and participates in the Polar Plunge with their team comprised of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. As a university that values the infinite worth of every individual and putting forth service, this is an opportunity to connect with a non-profit that believes in the same values and ideas. It is also a great way to support the local community while having a blast!

Join our team and commit to raise up to $75 for Special Olympics!
All Manchester students are encouraged to join Team Spartans.

Schedule of Events

While the Polar Plunge is not an all day event (lasting approximately four hours) you'll want to plan ahead. We encourage you to view typical schedule for the day which we've outlined below. As we get closer to the day of the event which occurs in February, be sure to check this section of the website regularly as we update this schedule.

Event Location

The Polar Plunge is located in the PERC Auxiliary Gym on MU Campus. Please follow the directional signs. The Physical Education and Recreation Center is off East Street. 604 College Ave, North Manchester, Indiana 46962

We collaborate with Wabash County and Kosciusko County each year to reach our fundraising goal. We aspire to have 50 plungers here on campus while highlighting the allied sports teams within the area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register on the website in order to jump?
Yes, all plungers for the event must be registered online.

How old do you need to be in order to participate?
Twelve years of age with a wavier of participation completed by a parent or guardian. Anyone 18 or younger must complete this waiver.

Do I have to wear a costume?
No you don't have to wear a costume, but it is encouraged for teams to show unity!

Will there be changing rooms?
Yes there will be pods, and restrooms available for plungers to change clothing.
