Manchester speaker to focus on Afghan refugee crisis

Nyein ChanNyein Chan, director of Refugee and Resettlement Services for Catholic Charities of Fort Wayne-South Bend, will speak 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25 at Manchester University.

He will speak about Catholic Charities' work on the growing refugee crisis in Afghanistan, and their work more broadly in resettling refugees in Indiana.

The presentation is in Cordier Auditorium on the North Manchester campus. Admission is free. Masks and social distancing are required.

It will also be livestreamed on Facebook.

“Refugee and Resettlement Services” is part of the Values, Ideas and the Arts (VIA) series, which offers academic enrichment for Manchester students. VIA programs are open to the public.

The program is made possible by the Peace Studies Institute at Manchester.
