Kauffman Scholarship and MU Study Away Awards
In honor of the memory of Manchester University graduate Bruce Kauffman, who was a
scholar, musician, and financier, a generous benefactor and Bruce’s college roommate, established an endowment fund for Manchester University students who choose to study away, or in an approved program in the U.S., during their undergraduate years. The fund makes off-campus study possible for students who are unable to pursue coursework of this nature due to financial constraints. This award is particularly relevant for students who have dreamed of studying away, or of participating in an off- campus program in the U.S., but who didn’t believe it would be possible to do so.
Through the generosity of other Manchester donors, some additional funding is also available for study away. Students who have applied for the Kauffman scholarship are eligible for these additional funding opportunities as well. Selected recipients of these additional funds will be named “Manchester University Study Away Award” winners.
