Danny Powell, Ed.D., M.B.A., and M.A
Visiting Associate Professor of Business
Dr. Danny M. Powell Jr. Ed.D., M.B.A., M.A. is an Associate Professor of Business. Danny has 15 years of experience teaching Finance and Management, and over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry, currently managing portfolios for individuals and organizations for Asset Management Strategies. Danny and his wife Cathy have been married for 36 years and have two children, Carli (32) and Blake (28). Danny’s hobbies include playing guitar in a Cover Band (CAVALEAR), and competing as a Triathlete. Danny has completed well over 100 triathlons including 6 Ironman and 5 70.3 Ironman events.
Research Interests:
Dr. Powell’s research interests include the Impact of Leadership Behavior and Personality on Financial Performance, and Satisfaction, as well as The Impact Coaching Behavior on Team/ Athlete Performance, and Satisfaction.
Education:
Danny earned his doctorate in Management from Oakland City University in 2009, and his M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2003.
Honors and Awards:
As a faculty member Danny has earned several teaching awards, and was also the Head Coach of Trine University’s NCAA National Championship Triathlon team where he earned the NCAA DIII Coach of the Year award as well as the USOPC Collegiate Coach of the year award in 2021.
