Dr. Lucas Dargo, program director and associate professor of athletic training at Manchester University, has been named the President-Elect of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (IATA).
Dargo’s term will begin this March and extend through March 2028, at which point he will assume the role of President.
His goals as President-Elect include four key priorities:
- Strengthening connections with students
- Enhancing engagement with current members
- Empowering volunteers and board engagement
- Increasing transparency and communication
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to help lead the profession of athletic training into 2030,” said Dargo. “While I will be stepping away from my role as Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee, my commitment to advocacy will only continue to grow in this new capacity.”
In 2025, Dargo received the IATA’s Joe A. Harvey Distinguished Service Award, given each year to an individual who has made special contributions to the field of sports medicine and been an advocate of the athletic training profession.
Dargo joined Manchester’s faculty in 2018. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, Master of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio University, and Doctorate of Athletic Training from Indiana University.
