What we achieve

  • Fulbrights galore. A total of 30 Manchester graduates have received the U.S. government’s prestigious Fulbright grants to study and teach away. In addition, two Manchester faculty members have done research away as Fulbright Scholars.
  • We grow CPAs. Manchester is legendary for producing well-prepared professionals who are offered full-time positions months before they graduateOur pre-med students aren’t average. Biology and chemistry students leave Manchester University ready for medical school. Over the last five years, 79 percent of Manchester graduates who applied to med school were accepted. The national average is about 41 percent.
  • Our graduates are successful. 94.6 percent employed, in further studies or in voluntary service within six months of graduation (5-year average based on a 93 percent knowledge rate)
  • Peace Studies -We have some ideas about non-violent resolution to conflict. Manchester is home to the world’s first peace studies program and to one of the earliest environmental studies programs. Each May, at least half of our graduating seniors sport green ribbons on their gowns, signifying they have joined the Graduation Pledge Alliance.
  • We sing in cool places. Manchester’s A Cappella Choir performs in impressive venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Vatican in Rome

U.S.News & World Report

Manchester University is among the top 10 schools in the Midwest for undergraduate teaching, and it is tied for No. 1 in Indiana, according to U.S.News & World Report Rankings.

Additionally, U.S.News & World Report ranks Manchester as one of the Midwest’s best schools for advancing social mobility for students from families with lower incomes.

Academic Influence

Academic Influence, a team of academics and data scientists who use machine learning to measure the impact of faculty and alumni associated with the schools, degree programs and disciplines, ranks Manchester #4 in Indiana among “Most Influential U.S. Universities by State,” behind Indiana’s behemoths, Notre Dame, IU and Purdue.

The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review, one of the nation’s leading website guides for college-bound students, says Manchester is a “2022 Best College in the Midwest.”

Washington Monthly

Washington Monthly lists Manchester as one of the top three in Indiana for liberal arts colleges. This ranking is based on the schools’ contribution to the public good in three broad categories: aiding social mobility for students, promoting public service and doing research.

Manchester is also listed among Washington Monthly America’s “Best Bang for the Buck” colleges — a list of schools ranked according to how well they help students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. MU is among the top 15 colleges in Indiana to be listed.
