MU Spartan Pride Band Camp 2024 General Information
NOTE: Unlike most high school bands, marching band at Manchester University is
free! You will only need a pair of approved marching shoes. In addition,
Scholarships are available for both music majors and non-majors!
Important Band Camp Dates:
- August 11 – New Member woodwinds-brass/All Drumline/All Guard/Staff move-in day
- August 12 – New Member WW-Brass/All Drumline/All Guard camp begins
- August 13 – Returner woodwinds/brass move-in day
- August 13 - Evening welcome banquet (all members/staff)
- August 14-21 - Full Band Camp
- August 26 - First Day of Fall '24 Semester!
Band Camp Daily Schedule - Morning music or marching block - 9-11:30 a.m.
- Afternoon music block- 1-4:30 p.m.
- Evening block – 6-8 p.m.
Band Camp Necessities - Athletic shoes (no crocs/sandals/opened-toed)
- Socks
- Lightweight athletic clothing – light color recommended
- Sunscreen
- Water jug – either gallon or half-gallon
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Deodorant
Camp Costs - No overall camp cost (meals provided as well)
- You will need to purchase your own marching shoes (done during camp)
