In MU’s Creative Music Technology Minor or Audio Production Certificate programs, gain skills in music and audio production, including digital audio workstations (such as ProTools, Ableton Live and Logic Pro), mixing, mastering and live sound engineering.

With a focus on both artistry and technology, you’ll gain hands-on experience in music and audio production, including multitrack recording, music production, audio editing, and live sound preparing you for professional and creative experiences ranging from music production and live sound engineering to sound for film and video games.

Students who choose a path in Creative Music Technology, earn a Certificate in Audio Production or both can pursue careers in a variety of fields that incorporate the need to harness professional sound. Students can also find careers outside of the music industry that heavily rely on their newly developed expertise. The median annual wage for broadcast, sound, and video technicians was $56,600 in May 2024.
