Major in clinical and rehabilitation sciences with a concentration in pre-athletic training (pre-AT) and you’ll get hands-on clinical experience and training that will prepare you to apply to a graduate program and then test for licensure as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC),

A master’s degree in athletic training is required to meet requirements for certification. Manchester offers a Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program, making the transition from our undergraduate program to the MAT easier. And with unique options like Early Assurance and a 3+2 path, you’ll be on the way to your career quicker and more economically.

Athletic Training 3+2 Option

With the Athletic Training 3+2 option, you can pursue an undergraduate degree in clinical and rehabilitation sciences along with a Master of Athletic Training degree in just five years – a process that would normally take six.*

Students who choose the 3+2 option complete the requirements for their undergraduate degree on an accelerated schedule that includes 12 semester-hours of coursework each summer. They attend classes at our residential campus in North Manchester, Ind., earning their bachelor’s degree in just three years. At the end of their second year, they apply for admittance to the MAT professional program.

In the two-year MAT program, they study at our Fort Wayne, Ind., campus, where they have enhanced access to internships, clinical experiences and all the amenities offered by the second largest city in Indiana.

Some students prefer the traditional path that includes four years of undergraduate study, including student-athletes who intend to maintain four years of athletic eligibility.
