Growing From Strong Roots
Karly Eichenauer, whose mother, father and all four grandparents – not to mention a brother and multiple aunts and uncles – are all MU grads. But Manchester wasn’t an inevitable choice for Karly, who grew up in North Manchester and planned to find a college a few hours away.
Now she’s looking to start a new family tradition – a career in medicine. Her mother, a family physician, was a big influence, Karly admits. “It’s really awesome to hear all around town how much of an impact she’s had on everybody’s lives.”
After medical school, Karly’s career options will be wide open. Is a mother-daughter family practice in her future? “I think my mom would like that,” she says.

Manchester is a family tradition for me. I didn’t want to be that kid in high school who went to college in their hometown, but I realized after researching dozens of schools that I missed the Manchester feel.
