Manchester University’s Henney Department of Education will offer an interactive professional development workshop with award-winning local author Shannon Baunach Anderson on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Based on her latest book, Writing from Scratch, Anderson will provide practical, skill-based writing “recipes” to educators, including creative ways to boost idea generation and methods of encouragement to help students develop as confident, joyful writers.
This workshop is open to educators of all types and offers ideas that can immediately be applied in the classroom.
Anderson, an Indiana native, is an award-winning children’s book author, professor and TEDx speaker. Her book I Love Strawberries! was named the top-rated 2022 picture book by Good Housekeeping magazine and the National Book of the Year by the Farm Bureau Foundation. Learn more here.
The session will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with lunch provided. Participants who register by Aug. 15 are guaranteed a copy of Writing from Scratch. Those interested can register here.
