Greetings, Alumni!
Iโm writing this greeting after spending a beautiful day at Camp Mack. Camp Mack Day has been a tradition at Manchester for a long time. Even though students no longer take the train from North Manchester to Milford, Indiana, the excitement of the day remains the same – maybe even more so now! The last several years, the date of Camp Mack Day is kept a secret until 5 a.m. when an email announcement is sent. Dorm R.A.s bang pots and pans through the halls and shout that classes are cancelled! Itโs a special day for students, faculty and staff from North Manchester and Fort Wayne to relax on the shores of Lake Waubee, challenge themselves to try new activities like canoeing, and overcome fears on the high ropes course. What are your memories of Camp Mack Day?
Homecoming registration will be opening soon! Reunite with athletic teammates and classmates, listen to music from Homecoming favorite โFriends with the Weatherโ band, and cheer on the Spartan football, soccer and volleyball teams on Saturday, October 11th. On Friday, October 10th, we look forward to recognizing this yearsโ Alumni Honor Award recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Dr. Jeff Easley โ83, Stacie Yoder โ95 Gayheart, Connie Snyder โ94 Mick, and Dr. Martin Garcia Chavez ’16 will receive Alumni Awards. Coach Dave Good, Korey Bucher โ10, Erica Sewell โ05, and the 2009 Menโs Cross Country Team are the Hall of Fame inductees.
Finally, our office moved this summer! We are now located on the second floor of the Jo Young Switzer Center (formerly the Union) on the North Manchester campus. If you are visiting campus, please stop by and say hi. Weโd love to meet you!
