About Manchester

Brand Toolkit - Website

Manchester’s website is created and maintained by staff in the Office of Marketing. However, Marketing welcomes site management of departmental and office sites by those who are able and willing to take on this responsibility.

Website management by Marketing

If you’d like Marketing to create and/or maintain your departmental website, please contact us using the marketing services request button.

Individual website management

All web pages on Manchester’s website are created in Sitefinity website management software. This is a Cloud-based tool that requires no installation on individual computers. It does require, however, that permissions be created within the Office of Marketing, unique to each user’s role. Request Sitefinity access using a help desk ticket. Student access must be approved by departmental supervisors.

Sitefinity Training

Initial Sitefinity training is provided by the web content strategist, Nathan Haywood from the Office of Marketing and can be scheduled individually. Contact Nathan, to schedule your training.

The web content strategist can also provide support for questions from Sitefinity users. Other resources include:

Web standards

Heading and body text styles are built into Sitefinity. Users should choose these styles from the dropdown menu in the "edit" dialogue boxes of Sitefinity content blocks. <H1> tags should typically be used for the main page title, while <H2>, <H3>, <H4> and <H5> tags are used for subheadings. Body text should be designated as <Normal>.

Web content

Website contributors should keep in mind that the website is intended as a marketing tool to engage with prospective students, parents and alumni. It is not intended as a repository for class documents, student handbooks, syllabi, etc. Canvas or ChetNet may be more appropriate places to make these documents available.
