  • Alumni Book Club – The Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare

Jo Young Switzer Center 604 College Avenue, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN, United States

Join MU's very own Shakespearean expert and enthusiast Dr. Stacy Erickson-Pesetski, Professor of English and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, for three weeks of discussion of Twelfth Night (1601), one of Shakespeare's most read and performed comedies.  We'll have fun digging into the fun and chaotic plot — shipwreck! mistaken identity! unrequited love! — and also learn a bit about the play's 400+ performance history, including contemporary social commentary. Dr. Erickson-Pesetski has taught Shakespeare (and other classes!) at Manchester since 2007; she spends her summers reading Shakespeare with incarcerated adults and juveniles at the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne and Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility in Logansport. This event will be in-person and virtual. We'll meet in the Hoff room in upper Jo Young Switzer Center on June 11, 18, and 25 at 10:30 a.m. and the link to join us virtually is shared when you register. Register Here!

  • Alumni Book Club – The Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare Meeting

Jo Young Switzer Center 604 College Avenue, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN, United States

Join us for a three-week exploration of Twelfth Night (1601), one of Shakespeare’s most widely read and frequently performed comedies. Together, we’ll dive into its lively and chaotic plot—shipwrecks, mistaken identities, and unrequited love—while also touching on the play’s more than 400-year performance history and its relevance to contemporary social themes. Sessions will take place on June 11, 18, and 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Hoff Room (upper Jo Young Switzer Center). A virtual attendance option is also available, with access details shared upon registration. The series is led by Dr. Stacy Erickson-Pesetski, Professor of English and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Manchester University. Since joining the faculty in 2007, she has taught Shakespeare extensively and brings additional perspective from her work leading Shakespeare discussions with incarcerated adults and juveniles at the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne and the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility.
