  • Bottorff named outstanding reviewer

    Posted Aug. 30 - The board of directors of the journal Pharmacotherapy, upon recommendation by its Scientific Editorial Council, has selected Mike Bottorff as one of six outstanding reviewers for 2018. Chair of pharmacy practice and professor of pharmacy, Bottorff received this honor because the board found his high-quality, timely reviews to be invaluable.

     

  • Pharmacy classes elect officers

  • Abdelmageed wins statewide community leader award

    Posted Aug. 22 - The Indiana Leadership Association has honored Ahmed Abdelmageed, assistant dean of student, alumni and community engagement, with the statewide Distinguished Community Leader Award.  “One would be hard pressed to find a discussion on diversity and inclusion in Fort Wayne and not find Ahmed Abdelmageed either in person, or at least mentioned as a passionate supporter of all people,” said Cheri Becker and Justin Clupper of Leadership Fort Wayne in their nomination.   • Brooks earns Generation Rx Champion Award

    Posted Aug. 22 - The Indiana Pharmacists Alliance recently selected Tracy Brooks, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, to receive its Generation Rx Champion Award. The award is given to a pharmacist who has demonstrated excellence in community-based prescription drug abuse prevention and raised awareness within the pharmacy community. It is encourages educational prevention efforts aimed at patients, youths and other members of the community.

     

  • DeLellis helps Dupont Hospital earn special accreditation

    Posted Aug. 21 - Teresa DeLellis, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was instrumental in helping the Emergency Room of Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne achieve accreditation as a Geriatric Emergency Department. Dupont is one of only 14 hospitals in the nation with such a designation. Read more.

     

  • Noureldin named to APhA-APRS delegation

    Posted Aug. 20 - Marwa Noureldin, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, has been appointed to represent the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APR) delegation at the 2018-19 APhA House of Delegates. 

    The House of Delegates is the principal policy-making body of the APhA.  This forum represents the views and interests of a diverse group of members who meet during the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition to establish broad policy on health care, medication use, and professional and governance matters.  Delegates also provide input throughout the year on policy topics under consideration by the association.

  • MU sends team to AACP Fall Institute

    Posted July 23 – Manchester will send a team to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Fall Institute – “Student Affairs: Strategies to Promote a Culture of Well-Being Among Students and Faculty.” Representing MU will be Kierstan Etheridge, wellness and inclusion coordinator; Jessica Montalvo, director of student services; Danette Till, director of counseling services; Tom Smith, associate professor of pharmacy practice and pharmacogenomics; and Ahmed Abdelmageed, assistant dean of student, alumni and community engagement.

    Expert speakers at the conference will address student mental health and programs that contribute to dealing with stress in order to facilitate learning.
