  • Williams is guest editor of podcasting symposium

    Posted Dec. 16 - Leonard Williams, professor of political science and dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences, was the guest editor for a symposium on podcasting in political science to be published in PS: Political Science & Politics. PS has just released FirstView versions of the articles in the Spotlight section which highlighted eight noteworthy podcasts.   • Skendaj presents on peace studies, pedagogy

Skendaj made a presentation on “Student Stories: Using Digital Media for Civic Engagement in Peace Studies Course” at the Commemorating Violent Conflicts and Building Sustainable Peace conference at Kent State University in October. 

     

  • McKenna-Buchanan presents twice at convention

    Posted Nov. 18 - Tim McKenna-Buchanan, assistant professor of communication studies, presented at the 105th Annual National Communication Association Convention, Nov. 14-16 in Baltimore, Md. He presented on a panel titled, “More than Survival: Using Basic Course Retention Research to Strengthen the Role of the Basic Course for Colleges and Universities,” and a teaching activity titled, “An Emotion Work Audit: Exploring Ways to Survive and Thrive in the Emotion-laden Workplace.”

     

  • Mills' work on cystic fibrosis presented at conference

    Posted Nov. 13 - The work of Alex Mills, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was presented on his behalf in October at the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference in Nashville. It was titled “Implementation of a Pharmacist Driven Vitamin D Protocol in a Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic.”

     

     

  • Mekonnen, Wilhite co-author for ACCP meeting

  • DeLellis presents at two conferences

    Posted Nov. 13 - Teresa DeLellis, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, co-presented “Innovative Ways of Keeping it ‘Old School’” for the Geriatric SIG Webinar Series of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in September. She also presented “A Little Help Goes a Long Way: Maximizing the Role of Pharmacists in Inter-professional Outpatient Care” at the Indiana Geriatrics Society Annual Meeting in Indianapolis in October. 

     

  • Eight at MU participate in #RxWritingChallenge

    Posted Nov. 13 - Eight faculty and staff participated with more than 1,500 pharmacy writers worldwide in the 14- day #RxWritingChallenge from Oct. 28 to Nov. 8. To meet the challenge, they pledged to write at least 30 minutes each weekday to help advance pharmacy science, education and practice. Participating were Diane Calinski, Teresa DeLellis, Jennifer Henriksen, Michelle Kibiger, Kathryn Marwitz, Alex Mills, Marwa Noureldin and Sara Trovinger.

     

  • DeLellis will serve on AACP committees, FW leadership committee

  • Foundation invites DeLellis to present workshop

Hartford Foundation has invited Teresa DeLellis, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, to deliver a workshop in April for its annual national conference. “Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders” will train nurses in collaborative medication management for older adults. 

     

  • Bottorff recognized for work on study series for cardiology pharmacists

    Posted Nov. 13 - The American College of Clinical Pharmacy has recognized Mike Bottorff, chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, for his work toward the publication of an important home-study series for cardiology pharmacists. As a Cardiology Self-Assessment Program (CardSAP) reviewer, Mike ensured the accuracy and relevance of the material, gauged how well the items assess mastery of the learning objectives, and offered suggestions for improvement to the authors.
