    Posted Oct. 18 - Congratulations to Marwa Noureldin, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, who was invited to speak at the Indiana Geriatrics Society Annual Fall Conference Oct. 18 in Indianapolis.  Her presentation was titled “Examining Medication Management Roles and Experiences Among Older Adults and Family Caregivers.”

     

  • Ades testifies regarding pharmacy benefit managers

    Posted Oct. 18 - Ryan Ades, assistant director of experiential education and assistant professor of pharmacy practice, testified Sept. 19 before the Indiana Interim Study Committee on Public Health, Behavioral Health and Human Services regarding practice of pharmacy benefit managers. Ades testified with Veronica Vernon, co-chair of the Indiana Pharmacists Association Legislative and Regulatory Council.

  • Mills presents at Indiana pharmacists conference

    Posted Oct. 18 - Alex Mills, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, presented a session on “Considerations for Primary Care in Persons Living with HIV” at the Indiana Pharmacists 2019 Fall CPE Conference and Expo Sept. 26 in Carmel, Ind. The expo offered an opportunity to meet with Indiana pharmacist decision-makers, including health system, community and non-traditional pharmacists.  The meeting theme was “Preparing for the Future of Pharmacy Practice.”  

     

  • Francois is semifinalist for Schwarzman Scholars

    Posted Oct. 16 - Senior Chris Francois has been selected as a semifinalist for Schwarzman Scholars, which is designed to prepare young leaders to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world. Described as the first scholarship created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century, Schwarzman prepares future leaders in politics, business and science. Students in the program pursue a master’s degree in global affairs through a personalized academic plan.

     

  • Reed's work played at festival, on tour and Chicago radio

    Posted Oct. 11 - “Three Moments,” a new composition by Tim Reed, associate professor of music, premiered Oct. 10 at a faculty recital at Indiana State University. The composition for alto saxophone, cello and fixed-media electronics, also will be performed Oct. 25 at the Indiana State University New Music Festival.

    One of Reed’s works for piano, “The Misappropriations for Solo Piano,” has been released on the PnOVA American Piano Music series. The composition will be performed by pianist Martin Jones on tour in November, and it will be performed in a live broadcast concert Nov. 11 on WFMT-FM Chicago.

    Reed’s electroacoustic composition, “ … the irresistible will of heaven …” has been released on the Electronic Masters series by Ablaze Records. It is available on CD digitally by Naxos.

     

     

  • Skendaj presents research paper at national conference

    Posted Sept. 30 - Elton Skendaj, the Gladdys Muir Associate Professor in Peace Studies, presented a paper on “Obstacles to rule of law reforms in Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia” at the American Political Science Association conference Aug. 30-Sept. 1 in Washington D.C. This presentation is part of a book project on legal culture and corruption in Eastern Europe. 

  • Ades writes feature for state pharmacists’ journal

    Posted Sept. 17 - Congratulations to Ryan Ades, assistant director of experiential education and assistant professor of pharmacy practice, for his article featured in the Summer 2019 IN Pharmacist –The Official Journal of the Indiana Pharmacists Association. In his role as president of the Indiana Academy of Community Pharmacists (IACP), Ryan wrote “The Value of IPA Membership.”

     

  • Smith, Dabaja and Farhat publish their research

  • Mohan, Kheir publish article on Parkinson’s disease

    Posted Sept. 17 - Shekher Mohan, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, and Engy Kheir ’19 Pharm.D. have published an article in Pharmacy Times titled “Management and Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.” Shekher noted that Engy worked hard during her time as an APPE student with him last year and demonstrated excellent writing skills. He has encouraged her to continue pursuing writing even as she begins her career as a pharmacist. You can read their article here.
