  • Lauck earns highest honor dean’s list

    Posted Sept. 17 - Kudos to Sarah Lauck, administrative assistant at the Fort Wayne campus, who is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Sarah was named to the Dean’s Highest Honor List last semester with a GPA of 3.9-4.0. 

     

  • Cogley-Pifko serves on panel about graduate school

  • Ades will serve on AACP committee

Ryan has been appointed to the Self-Care Therapeutics/Nonprescription Medicine SIG’s Programming Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Ryan will help provide programming in the form of webinars and the AACP Annual Meeting. 

     

  • Hetrick named to advisory committee

    Posted Sept. 17 - Greg Hetrick, director of admissions and enrollment management, has been appointed to a one-year term on a new Admissions Workshop Advisory Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.  The new committee will counsel on programming with a goal of providing relevant content to enhance the annual admissions workshop. 

     

  • Faculty represent Manchester at IPTeC Conference

    Posted Sept. 17 - Several faculty members represented Manchester at the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program (IPTeC) Conference Aug. 15-16, 2019, at Butler University. The conference provided pharmacy residents, fellows, graduate students, and pharmacists with an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills.

    Topic leaders at the conference included:

    Rob Beckett, Designing an Effective Educational Section; Sarah Gordon, Panel Discussion on Precepting Experiences; Dusty Linn, Effectively Integrating Experiential Students into Clinical Practice; Sara Trovinger, Experiential Advice from Above: Directors of Experiential Education; and Andrea Wilhite, Establishing Classroom Rapport.

    Brian Skinner also contributed to a panel discussion on life as a young faculty member.

  • Duchane, Arseneau and two alumnae win state honors

    Posted Sept. 12 -  Kim Duchane, professor of exercise science and athletic training, has won the Legacy Award from the Indiana Society for Health and Physical Educators (INSHAPE). On Manchester’s faculty since 1992, Duchane will be honored at the INSHAPE conference in Indianapolis in November. Duchane earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University, his master’s degree from Sam Houston State University and his Ph.D. from Texas Women’s University.

    At the same event, MU student Casey Arseneau will receive INSHAPE’s Outstanding Student Award, which goes to an undergraduate who has displayed distinctive leadership and meritorious service to the profession of health, physical education, recreation, dance and/or allied areas.

    In addition, two MU alumnae will be receive Teacher of the Year honors and advance to the Midwest district competition, which leads to the national contest. Melanie DeGrandchamp ’11 Busch, a health and physical education teacher at Fort Wayne North Side High School, is the 2019 Indiana Health Education Teacher of the Year. Kalie Carlisle ’10 McKinley, physical education teacher at Assumption High School in Louisville, Ky., is the 2019 Indiana Dance Education Teacher of the Year. 

     

  • Dargo will present to Great Lakes athletic trainers

    Posted Aug. 30 - Lucas Dargo, assistant professor of exercise science, has been selected to speak at the March 2020 meeting of the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association. Lucas’ presentation is titled “Propelling Us Forward: Supporting Athletic Training Legislation from Bill to Law.”
