Join us for "Let There be Peace on Earth," the Manchester University Fall Choral Concert. This concert will feature our A Capella Choir and Chamber Singers! The concert starts at 2:30 in the Wine Recital Hall on the North Manchester Campus and will also be livestreamed on the Music at Manchester Facebook Page. The concert is free and open to the public. The Manchester Symphony Orchestra presents Music of England and Wales, featuring guest artist-in-residence Andrew Nesler, performing William Mathias' Piano Concerto No. 2. Nesler has performed throughout the United States, Canada, England, Wales, Germany, Czechia, and Austria. Specializing in post-World War II music, he earned a Master of Music degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he developed a particular interest in Welsh piano music. Dr. Debra Lynn will conduct the performance, which will also include Three Dances from Henry VIII by Edward German, Pavane and Gigue by William Byrd, and Penillion by Grace Williams. We ‘ll hear how his academic efforts in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology prepared him for his corporate career as a talent assessor with GE Aerospace. And he will share how his time at Manchester continues to infuse his work in discovering and developing talent.
