  • DeLellis elected secretary of AACP’s geriatric group

    Posted June 2 - Teresa DeLellis, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was recently elected secretary of the Geriatric Special Interest Group at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She will be sworn in at the July annual meeting in Nashville, Tenn.

  • Caudill earns Certificate in Public Relations

    Posted May 16 - Whitney Caudill, vice president for human resources and strategic initiatives, has earned a Certificate in Public Relations from the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies. This certificate will enhance Whitney’s leadership of the strategic communications team at Manchester as well as the development of new programs and other initiatives.

    Whitney has a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Virginia and a Juris doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has also earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy. 

  • Peter Shepherd will be ambassador for German study

    Posted May 9 - Peter Shepherd has been selected as a Young Ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In his role, Peter will help promote study in Germany during his senior year at Manchester. All 2017-18 Young Ambassadors are invited to New York for a four-seminar addressing intercultural communications, presentation skills and marketing.

    A sales major with a German minor, Peter studied last fall in Marburg, Germany.

  • Bourff is Indiana AHPERD Outstanding Student of the Year

    Posted May 8 - Manchester’s Jared Bourff has been selected as the Indiana AHPERD Outstanding Student of the Year.  He will compete in the district competition against five other Midwest students this summer.  If selected, he will go on to the national competition. 

    Three other MU students majoring in physical education teacher education were also nominated for the award by the Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. They were Hunter Gaerte, Paige Keller and Mark Osmialowski. The nomination is based on academics and leadership, as well as service to their institution, community and the health and physical education profession.

    MU has had one national recipient in Melanie DeGrandchamp ’09, the Undergraduate Adapted Physical Education Student of the Year for the Society for Health and Physical Educators. 

  • Youth Triathlon brings 46 youths to campus

    Posted May 5 - Rain did not prevent Associate Professors Jeff Beer and Ryan Hedstrom and Assistant Professor Sun Kang from conducting a successful 2nd annual County Youth Triathlon on April 29.  In all, 46 area youth, ranging from kindergarteners to fifth-graders, biked, ran and completed an obstacle course.  Each participant received a snack bag, medal, T-shirt, and bike helmet courtesy of Parkview Wabash, Parkview Sports Medicine, and Chartwells.  Athletic training and sport management students volunteered their time to assist with the event.

  • Linn named Preceptor of the Year

    Posted May 2 - Dusty Linn, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, has been selected as the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience Faculty Preceptor of the Year for the 2016-17 academic year. The award carries with it an 18-month membership to the Indiana Pharmacist Alliance (IPA), and Linn’s name will be displayed on a plaque in the Office of Experiential Education. The award will be presented at the Graduation Banquet on May 19.

  • Beckett named Emerging Scholar

    Posted May 2 - Robert Beckett, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, has received a 2017 Emerging Teaching Scholar Award from the Council of Faculties of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Awards will be presented July 17 at the AACP annual meeting, “Pharmacy Education 2017” in Nashville, Tenn.

  • Williams to represent ISEA at national meeting in Boston

    Posted April 20 - Bradley Williams has been chosen the delegate to represent the Indiana State Education Association at the National Education Association Representative Assembly in June in Boston. Williams is a senior history education major.

  • Three students present posters at Academy of Science

    Posted April 7 - Three students presented posters at a recent meeting of the Indiana Academy of Science.  Yordanos Gebru (biology-chemistry), James Papalia (environmental studies), Rachel Samm (biology), and Ben Miller (biology) presented two posters on invasive species.  Dr. Kristen Short, assistant professor of biology, served as their mentor.
