About Manchester

Email from Whitney Caudill Bandemer, vice president for human resources and strategic initiatives, to faculty and staff, on Feb. 22, 2019:

Dear colleagues,

As you know, Abby Van Vlerah recently joined our leadership team as vice president for student affairs. I hope many of you have had a chance to introduce yourselves to Abby and welcome her to Manchester.

As part of her new role, Abby will serve as the Title IX coordinator for both campuses of the University.

She will lead our Title IX team of deputy coordinators and investigators, which includes Associate Professor Barb Burdge, Brandee Estes of human resources, Tami Hoagland of athletics, Jake Huffman of admissions, Assistant Professor Kurt Kurtzhals, Melanie Lawson of residential life and, on the Fort Wayne campus, Jessica Montalvo of student services. I will continue to serve as a deputy coordinator as well.

Abby is well qualified to lead the Title IX team. Her 14 years of work in higher education have provided her a breadth of experiences working with students as well as formal training in Title IX standards.

We are glad to have someone of Abby’s abilities take on this important role and we look forward to supporting her work in student affairs. An email will be sent from the president’s office today to all students announcing this change.

Whitney
