Creating a Respectful Environment TOGETHER

#CAREOnMU

Dear Community,

Jillian WattsIt has been my pleasure to be welcomed as the new director of C.A.R.E. Initiative. C.A.R.E. (Creating a Respectful Environment) Initiative is a resource and support service program designed to aid in the prevention of sexual violence, domestic/dating violence, and stalking through coordinated community response, education, and culturally responsive practices.  C.A.R.E. is different than Title IX because we are solely responsible for prevention education and resources: We are not a part of the Title IX process. We support University goals by:

  • Creating and sustaining a safe and collaborative community
  • Allowing all students, faculty, and staff to learn from each other through shared mutual respect and life experiences
  • Fostering healthy, long-lasting relationships
  • Supporting a culture of excellence that lasts beyond campus experiences

Will you take the pledge to continue the legacy of peace, mutual respect, and lifelong learning by supporting the Four Cores of CARE: Resources & Support, Consent, Mindfulness & Healthy Relationships, & Bystander Intervention? Let’s create a respectful environment together. Email CAREOnMU@Manchester.edu to pledge your commitment to #CAREONMU!

Thank you, and I’m excited for an amazing first year of programming and learning together!

Community in Action

Programming, Happenings and Opportunities

  • New student programming on both campuses, trainings, and collaborations with departments.
  • Don’t Cancel Your Class: in partnership with Career Services, we will be offering supplemental lectures if faculty are unable to attend courses.
  • Online modules for students, faculty, and staff through Not Anymore program.
  1. Learn about prevention, resources, and healthy relationships through our new online modules geared towards accessibility, inclusion, and short segment videos that are engaging and informative.
  2. To help support a culture of community and safety, these modules will be required for all faculty, staff, and students. Detailed information coming soon to your campus email.
